Cooperation Stimulation Strategies for Peer-To-Peer Wireless Video Streaming Social Networks

چکیده
Human behavior analysis in video sharing social networks investigates the impact of human dynamics on video sharing systems and has become an emerging research area. Users watching video streaming in the same wireless network share the same limited bandwidth of backbone connection to the Internet, thus they might want to cooperate with each other to obtain better video quality. These users form a wireless video streaming social network. Every user wishes to watch video with high quality while paying as little as possible cost to help others. This paper focuses on providing incentives for user cooperation. We propose a game-theoretic framework to model user behavior and to analyze the optimal strategies for user cooperation simulation in wireless video streaming. We first analyze the Pareto optimality and the time-sensitive bargaining equilibrium of the two-person game. We then extend the solution to the multiuser scenario. We also consider potential selfish users’ cheating behavior and malicious users’ attacking behavior and analyze the performance of the proposed strategies with the existence of cheating users and malicious attackers. Both our analytical and simulation results show that the proposed strategies can effectively stimulate user cooperation, achieve cheat free and attack resistance, and help provide reliable services for wireless video streaming applications.

The popularity of video-on-demand (VoD) streaming has grown dramatically over the World Wide Web. Most users in VoD P2P networks have to wait a long time in order to access their requesting videos. Therefore, reducing waiting time to access videos is the main challenge for VoD P2P networks. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm for caching video based on peers' priority and video's popula...

متن کاملArchitecture for Media Streaming Delivery over P2P Networks
Peer-to-Peer networks (P2P) exhibit specific characteristics that can be exploited for media streaming delivery. In this paper we propose a P2Pbased architecture for video streaming delivery incorporating reputation, cooperation, and semantic clustering strategies. We believe that the integration of those strategies will lead to significant improvements of P2P-based media streaming delivery. In...

In this paper, we propose a centralised Peer-to-Peer (P2P) streaming over hybrid wireless networks to mitigate the congestion at the Access Point (AP) in Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs). In our proposed architecture, an adaptive receiver-driven mechanism is used to coordinate the streaming from multiple senders. We also propose a peer handoff scheme and an AP handoff scheme for video strea...
